1. Understand Your Activity Profile
You will know more about how to benefit from Otto Bock advanced technology knees if you understand your activity level, or “mobility grade.”
View a presentation on mobility grades and what they mean.
2. Talk with Your Prosthetist
To determine how active you are, your Prosthetist will do an assessment interview – they can use a tool like the PAVET™ assessment. Based on your goals, you and your Prosthetist will identify the best prosthetic system for your needs and plan your therapy and gait training.
3. Getting Fit with an Otto Bock Knee
To ensure the best outcomes, your prosthesis must be fit by a Prosthetist who has mastered the settings and clinical impact of the knee technology. These experts will program the knee for all the ways you move—fast and slow, indoors and out. They will also educate you on how to use and care for the knee.

4. Take a Free, No-Obligation Test Drive!
Trying on an Otto Bock knee lets you experience the responsiveness and stability for yourself. To give you easy access to a demo, just complete the form on the Test Drive page and an Otto Bock representative will work with the Prosthetist to set up a convenient time for a Test Drive.
You can expect to spend a couple hours trying out the features of the knee. Special programming, multiple modes, stairs, uneven terrain — it all makes life a little easier.
Currently only available for C-Leg® and only in the United States.

5. Warranties: We Have You Covered
Like a high-performance car, Otto Bock advanced technology knees are covered by a three-year warranty that is standard with the Genium™, C-Leg and Compact, and all include a free service check at 24 months. We even provide a loaner knee during the service period. Extended warranties are also available for the Genium and C-Leg.
6. Reimbursement
Prosthetic knees are paid for in various ways, and are treated like prosthetic medical devices. Most insurance companies cover C-Leg technology. Please contact your insurance agent or other payor for more information about your coverage. In addition, there are significant numbers of clinical studies showing the benefits of C-Leg (and microprocessor) technology, which help make the case that microprocessor knees are medically necessary.
